The wines were superb as were the Tasting Room Associates Brian and Larry - very knowledgeable, gave great advice and clearly enjoy their job. Visited a couple of other wineries during the day, Mauritson was the best and would highly recommend to visit. … Mauritison wines are a favorite of ours and we belong to the wine club. We booked a special wine tasting and lunch------not at the tasting room but up on top of the Rockpile area overlooking the higher elevation vineyards and countryside------spectacular location. Family owned and operated Mauritson Winery in the heart of Dry Creek should be on eveyones list that comes to North Sonoma county.

Introducing Mauritson Wines and Rockpile Winery Down from 4,000 acres in the early 1960's, the Mauritson family has been growing grapes in Dry Creek since 1868. In 1884, it was their great-great-great grandfather, S.P. Hallengren who first planted grapes in the Rockpile Region.

These wines showcase the fruit-forward, floral and spice-driven characteristics attributed to these appellations. When it comes to Rockpile Wine, Mauritson Winery is the largest producer. Honing his winemaking skills and knowledge of winery operations at Kenwood, Taft Street and Dry Creek Vineyards, Clay was ready in 1998 to release the inaugural Mauritson Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel. Clay’s wife Carrie soon joined him, leading our marketing and operations support.
